This article talks about the almost name change in 1927. It would have been “Pentecostal Evangelical Church”.

Thanks for sharing the link. Fascinating to me that the term evangelical was suggested because they were evangelizing people. This would not fit with the leader meetings attached to evangelical. I have to say I’m very happy we did not make that change.
